Sure! Use this form to get added. Write your name as you would like it to appear (spelled the way it usually appears on your publications)

What are donations used for?

Open-content and open-source projects are fragile as development and maintenance costs do not pay for themselves.

We use donations to:

  • Cheer us up and remind us that somebody out there appreciates our work! A donation is a very concrete and useful token of appreciation.
  • To pay for commercial server space with high traffic levels and a complicated database infrastructure. With over 292,299 page impressions a month, it's not cheap!
  • To help pay for costs like software licences, a broken keyboard, etc.
  • None of the people behind this project get paid for their time, work, and commitment. While working on such endeavours gives us a lot of pleasure, we still hope to be able to at least cover our direct costs.

Please keep us alive!

We rely on people like you to donate whatever you can spare to keep our project alive. We greatly appreciate any amount, small or large!

FAQ: Technical Questions (regarding the site)

Q Who maintains Interaction-Design.org and who pays for it?
A
I, Mads Soegaard, do. The site is not sponsored by any institution or any company but is a labour of love. I made Interaction-Design.org because I have searched for a similar site myself and never found it. I hope it can be of use to somebody out there, and well, the site log files strongly suggest that that's the case ;-)

Q What kind of software is running Interaction-Design.org?
A
The site runs on a lot of PHP and Perl code that I have written during the last couple of years. It runs on an Apache webserver using a MySQL database. I have programmed a mini-CMS system to administer features such as the reference database, the changelog, news feeds, etc. All pages are valid XHTML 1.1 and conform to Section 508 (Web Accesibility).

Q How many pages are there on Interaction-Design.org?
A
Last time I counted (October 2007), there were about 86.000 unique html pages
