Active between 1986 and 1993, Belhaven specialised in books on environmental topics from geography, planning, urban studies, climatology, development, biology, ecology, geology and agriculture. It published over 200 titles and was bought by John Wiley and sons in 1993. Its founder and publisher, Iain Stevenson is now Professor of Publishing at University College London
