Meetup Details
Join us for a new series this spring.
The accessibility principles that we will talk about :
What is a disability?
List of some potential disabilities and how context plays a role
UI solutions for each disability (our focus for this event is colourblindness and low vision)
Accessibility in research and user empathy
Familiarizing with WCAG standard
We will then jump into testing our favourite websites for accessibility and find some obvious and not-so-obvious examples of accessibility issues.
Takeaways:
Knowing what is accessibility, specifically as it relates to colour and vision.
How you can test for accessibility with no prior knowledge
Be able to have a conversation about the business and user benefits to advocate for vision accessibility.
