A Local Group is a group of people who, like you, are passionate about design. Local Groups organize meetings to get inspired, have fun and learn from one another.

Meet-Up Details

Hi IxDF Los Angeles, this is a call for all the beginner in the UX Design who just don't know where to start and who used to be majored in another field. let's meet up and give each other sources, motivations, network over coffee! Share UX design insights and resources, discuss UX problems you are facing now, or just chat about anything else. I was there a year ago until I heard about the new major that Santa Monica College is offering for the first time in LA and that is centered towards the UX Design. As a student and an ex Neuroscience Major, I believe that everyone has something to add up. if it works we can make a plan on how we will succeed together in this field and work from there on regular basis. It's going to be an informal, cozy meet-up with fellow designers!

Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Beginners let's start here ! held on Jul 9, 2019. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

I can't make it, but good initiative. I am a career changer myself and I'd love to meet others but I live in the IE and it's just a bit far. Have a great time!

Hello! I'm a working UX/UI designer on the west side. I wouldn't describe myself as a beginner but I'm making an active effort to be more involved with the community. Having that said, I could really use some advice from other professionals about forging the career path you want, vs the path you can simply have. I would love to use this time to chat with others about their career journey so far and strategies for portfolio content and interviewing. Is there a confirmed attendance for this meetup? Looking forward to meeting!

hi there! I literally just joined this group! Design Thinking is my first IxDF course. I have been a graphic designer for years and this is a new career direction for me so I am a UX/UI Design beginner. I am so excited to belong to this community now!

Hi there! I'm a new member to IxDF (making a career transition to UX Research and starting a Masters in HCI) and would love to meet all of you. I live in "The OC", but work in DTLA two days a week, so I've joined both the (highly ranked) LA and SD groups. Thanks in advance for possibly scheduling another meet-up soon--maybe in DTLA?

Best,

Susan

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
