Meetup Details

Hi IxDF Munich, let’s meet up and network over… anything! We can warm up by talking about anything; one subject I’d like to talk about the design project at the end of the IxDF course “Design for the 21st Century with Don Norman”. It’s about what future design education could be like.

But don’t worry if you haven’t taken this course. Design education is such a wide-ranging issue we could use it to spin off on many issues.

German and English language both fine (I just write better in English).

Meetup Conversation

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Coffee/Drinks/Whatever UX meetup! held on Oct 6, 2021. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

We’ll meet at Cafe Haidhausen, Franziskaner Str. 4. That’s about 100 m. from the Rosenheimer Str. S-Bahn Station (front exit).

Please get in touch ahead of time if you can’t make it so I can change the reservation if necessary.

Am looking forward :-D - Beth

I would love to join! I would bring my boyfriend that is educational designer :)

Super - That would be great! We’ll be in Munich - I’ll see how many people respond before definitely deciding on a location, but I live in Haidhausen and there are a lot of cafes/Kneipen here!

I would like to join. Please keep the location somewhere in Munich. Thanks for organizing.

That would be great! I live in Haidhausen and there are a number of good cafes here closeby. I’m thinking about “Preysinggarten” because it has (or at least used to have) a private room that’s a little quieter. When I see how many people want to come it’ll be easier to decide on a place.

Hi everybody - so far six of us are planning on attending this IxDF meeting. I’ve looked at everybody’s website or Behance portfolios - impressive!

At least one other person is taking the course with Don Norman (which I just finished and am waiting for points to get my certificate). As there’s an assignment at the end of the course, this will definitely give us one thing to talk about.

Some of us are interested in or taking IxDF courses in Design Thinking, which I’d suggest focusing on at the meeting. I’d love to hear what you’re interested in; I’ll put my own ideas together, and when I get ideas from you, I’ll put a loose agenda together and send it around.

I’ll get back to you soon on location.

Looking forward to hearing from you! - Beth

Hi Beth,

This is lovely! Thanks for taking the initiative. This comes at a perfect time.

Just yesterday, I became to be the local leader for IxDF Munich. This means that, in the coming months, I’ll be taking up the responsibility (and pleasure) of building a vibrant and meaningful community of UX Designers in Munich.

Your initiative seems to be a perfect informal kickoff of our journey henceforth. Let me know if you need any kind of support for organising this first meet.

I look forward to meet you and more IxDFers next week - Shilpa

Thanks so much for organizing and looking forward!

I will be attending the meeting. Thanks for taking the initiative.

Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow evening, especially Shilpa Marathe, who will be taking over as the local leader of the IxDF community in Munich!

It was wonderful to meet and know you all yesterday. Thank you Beth for the initiative.

Let us keep the momentum. Stay tuned for LinkedIn page in some days.

Thanks so much, Shilpa, for posting this great photo!!!

Question for everybody: I got this TED newsletter today about climate change and the various initiatives they’re taking about it (Countdown: To a better future. (ted.com)).
Does anybody see this as an issue we could tackle as designers?

Please log in or join us to post comments in the conversation.

Meetup attendees

IxDF Members show their interest to attend a meetup by clicking the “Attend this meetup” button.

IxDF Members might also be bringing their non-member friends to the meetup (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meetups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
