Meet-Up Details

Dear IxDF Toronto,

Let's meet up and network over coffee (or something stronger), share UX design insights and resources, discuss UX problems you are facing now, or just chat about anything else. It's going to be an informal, cozy meet-up with fellow designers!

Meet-Up Conversation

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Coffee, Introductions and Design held on Feb 22, 2019. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hi everyone, looking very forward to seeing you at a meetup soon!

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for the last minute changes but Queen Mother Cafe cannot hold the sort of crowd that we're expecting so we're going to have to regroup elsewhere. I went over to Gladstone hotel and they have a bar that is fairly quiet on a Wednesday evening. I think this will be a great place for a meet and greet and will allow us to move about!

I would also suggest that we come with our ideas on how to engage this incredible community - if you have some ideas for fun games for us to get to know each other, please post them here! :)

Again, big apologies on the date and place change!

Hello everyone!

PLEASE REMEMBER: Today's meetup has been pushed to the 27th!

No idea how to contact everyone that's attending the event so here's to hoping that you all see it! I'll be speaking to the bar manager this evening and will update the location status to confirmed once we're good to go!

Thanks a lot,

Arvind

Hi Arvind! Thanks for info! Maybe we can create a group on MeetUp, and there everyone will be able to see updates about the event:) just an idea:)

Gunel! Yes, I think this is a great idea. Would you like to co-host the event with me? Let me know. You can email me at arvind.eyunni@gmail.com and we can discuss for the next meetings. :)

Hi Arvind, I wish this rescheduling notice had gone out via email as well, like the 5-day in advance reminder notice did. I travelled downtown to the Queen Mother Cafe tonight, as did another member of the group, and didn't know what had happened to the event.

Hi Leslie! I'm so sorry for the mix up. This is exactly what I was hoping would not happen and am sad to learn that it resulted as such. I hope the next time I see you I can profusely apologize and make it up to you. I'm creating a facebook group and will try to follow up with people via email where I can.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Thanks,

Arvind

Thanks Arvind for your reply. I was away on vacation last week but hope the second attempt at the meetup went well.

Hi guys! Can you please update us about the event? Thanks!

It' torrentuous out there. Would this meetup hold?

Hey guys, we’re sitting at the back of the cafe area! Look for a sign that says interaction design foundation!

I’m not sure but I’m am here. :)

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
