Meet-Up Details

Hi UX designers in Cork!

This month in UX Cork we are collaborating with the #CorkTechFest through a deep dive into ethics once again, this time with Niamh and Clodagh! Founders of The UX Book Club.

The products and services we create can do more harm than good to those who use them. As we face a crisis point where design and tech influence every aspect of our lives, we look at actions we can take to uplift, challenge and change the way we design to ensure good for humanity and the planet.

Find out why we must do better in the professional choices we make, and our power to impact positive change. Learn about everyday tech that discriminates through lack of awareness, unsustainable practices, inherent bias and questionable use of personal data. Join Clodagh and Niamh in a conversation about increased transparency and fairness in design and technology.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
