Meetup Details

Hey everyone! I have been working through the courses on here, and I have to admit… it’s been challenging. I’m excited about what I’m learning and the incredible depth of UX theory and principles, but there’s a big missing piece for me: practical application. It’s been tough to take these concepts and practice them effectively on my own.

Does anyone else feel the same way? There’s so much theory to absorb, and without others to share ideas, discuss concepts, or work on projects together, I sometimes feel stuck. I’m beginning to think this journey could be a lot more enjoyable and productive if we could team up.

So, here’s an idea: how about forming an online study group? We could meet once a week for a couple of hours. During that time, we could get to know each other, discuss our weekly learnings, work on assignments together, and even tackle course challenges as a team. Imagine being able to ask questions in real time, get feedback, and see how others approach the same problems.

If anyone is interested, please let me know! Whether you’re at the beginning or further along, I think we’d all benefit from the collective support and insights. Let’s make learning UI/UX a community experience!

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Feeling Stuck Learning UI/UX Solo? Let’s Create a Study Group! held on Nov 16, 2024. Feel free to ask questions about the date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hi there,

Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend this one. Will there be a recording that I can watch shortly after the event?

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

Thanks for letting me know I can make arrangement for that and send it to you afterwards. If anyone requires this aswell please drop your email in the comment section here and happy to share.

Hi, I'd like to join the study group but I can’t do 16th either unfortunately. Please let me know about future sessions though, as I’d really like to be involved!

Hi Anna, Sure that's fine, I will notify you when the next on will be after today’s session.

Meetup attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meetup by clicking “Attend this meetup” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meetups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meetup (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meetups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
