Meet-Up Details

Hello IxDF Rochester,

I am more than just a little excited to meet you all and see how we can create a strong UX presence here in Rochester, NY.

For this first meeting, I've put together an online videoconference rather than an in-person meet-up. Certainly we can decide as a group how to meet going forward.

In this first video call, let's get to know each other, share some of the key UX problems we’re facing and discuss how we can solve them. Save the date, grab your laptop (or phone!), and let’s see each other online!

Meet-Up Conversation

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Inaugural IxDF Rochester Meet-up held on Oct 2, 2020. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hello everyone,

I am so sorry that I will be missing our first ever meeting. I would love to know you all in person. Hopefully another time and day, I will make it.

Warmly,

Ozge

Hello Ozge,

Thank you for your interest in IxDF Rochester! Certainly there will be more opportunities for you to join us.

You have a fabulous background! I’m interested in knowing what you would like to accomplish or gain from being part of this group. Anything in particular you’d like to share with regard to that? Please let me know. Thanks

Hey everyone, can't make this one but looking forward to future meetups!

At this first meeting we’ll discuss when we’ll meet again and what day of the week might work best. Also, free time is precious, so I’d like to understand your motivation for being part of the group, and make this time worth your while. Thanks for expressing interest in IxDF Rochester!

At our first meeting I had a great conversation with fellow IDF Rochester member, Chris Lastovicka, a Digital Content Editor at Cornell University. We shared our ideas on what membership in IDF Rochester could be. Since there are so many opportunities for people to connect these days (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) what does connecting in the IDF Rochester group have to offer?

The answer? Lots! Tune in next Friday to learn more.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
