Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Interaction Design Foundation meet-up to be held in September. Which topics are you interested in discussing? What challenges are you facing? What inspires you in the field of UX/interaction design?

Leave your comments below. Let's start a great and buzzing meetup!

Hi,

Thee email invite says August 17, but here it says September 18. Which is it?

Hi Lars, it is September 18.

What time is the meetup?

Great idea to meet! My biggest challenge: how to convince possible users of our product to spend time on my initial interview? The goal of the interview is to get to know possible users and get better understanding of the problem that the users are facing. (The interview where I gather data for creating personas and user stories). Everyone is so busy these days. "Busy" is becoming some sort of curse... So, people are not willing to spend time on the interview. What is your experience with initiating this type of user interviews? How do you convince users of your product/service to spend time on the interview? Perhaps this could be one of the topics for the meet up? :)

Hi Kristina, thanks for sharing your thoughts! That's indeed a good and valid question you are asking - how to engage users in interviews. Let's discuss it at the meet-up.

Hi Kristina, I've updated the timing for the event: 18 pm.

Hi all :)
I'll be in Copenhagen from 23st to 30th of July.
There is any event, meeting or coffee scheduled for that week?

Thank you
Pierluigi

Hi Pierluigi

There aren't any planned events yet for July. But check out the meetup app to see if there are any other events that are interesting for you.

Wishing you a pleasant stay in Copenhagen :-)

Howdy! Where is the meeting taking place? Best wishes, Kristina D.

Hello guys. Due to illness I won't be able to participate in tomorrow's meetup. I suggest that one of you finds a place, which could be a local cafe to meet at. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sadhia, it is a shame you cannot participate. Get well soon ;) How many are ready for our meetup tomorrow? Any suggestions for a place where we could meet? (where it would be possible to seat all of us)

Is the meeting still taking place?

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
