Our First Meetup of the IxDF A Coruña Local Group 🚀

Last Thursday, we hosted the first meetup of the IxDF A Coruña Local Group. We were joined by members of IxDF, as well as other UX professionals from the area. For those who wanted to participate but couldn’t make it, here’s a recap of how it went.

💻 Since it was an online event, where conversations can be a bit harder to spark between people meeting for the first time, I prepared a short presentation covering:

✅ What the Interaction Design Foundation is

✅ What local groups are

✅ My motivation for taking on the role of local group leader in A Coruña

✅ How networking events I’ve attended in the past were organized

We also had the chance to get to know each other better, share our professional journeys, and, of course, have some laughs with a fun ice-breaker game! (I won’t reveal what it was just yet 😉).

One key insight that emerged from our discussions was the need for a professional support group—a space where we can ask questions and share knowledge about UX design. Many of us work remotely and are the only UX professionals in our companies, so having a community is especially valuable.

✨ Since I love workshops and engaging people in creative exercises, I organized a short ideation session where we explored:

🔹 How we can create events that encourage people to attend regularly

🔹 How to involve local companies in supporting the community
