Hi IxDF Chicago,

Rachel Maher, Kimetha Dunn, Mila Shumilina, Devin Henkel-Legare, and Ipsita Chatterjea invite you to our 2024 Kick off.

Meet or reconnect with other members of the Chicago-Area and beyond UX community. We’ll have a round of “Ask a Senior UXer!”; answer your questions about the IXDF, and facilitate a discussion of soon to be and potential activities for the chapter in 2024. IxDF Chicago’s Leadership wants to thank Kimetha Dunn for providing our Zoom rooms since 2022.

1) If you will be attending tonight’s event, go to #Event-Chatter within Slack to introduce yourself, tell us your name, give us some idea of where you are at the moment, what sort of work you do within UX, or want to do within UX, and your current favorite design element of a website or app.

2) If you have questions for “Ask a Senior UXer!” that you want anonymized, DM me in Slack and I’ll pass it on to the rest of leadership so we can give you an answer during the meet up.

For those of you thinking about staging a meet up through the chapter, please note the guidelines and expectations developed by Chapter Leadership.

These are design to protect the time, attention and inboxes of the members of the chapter as well as everyone’s ability to have their meet up invitations taken seriously by everyone else.

Meetup attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meetup by clicking “Attend this meetup” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meetups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meetup (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meetups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
