Meetup Conversation

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss IxDF Hangout & Meet and greet held on Jun 29, 2024. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

I’m new to IxDF; looking forward to meeting some folks in the community. Thank you for arranging, Amy!

Wish I could attend. Is there going to be another one?

Hi Gina, sorry for the delay in my response. (Been a busy week!) Al Dilorenzo and I have recently been made co-leaders of IxDF Columbus and we intend to eventually plan regular meetups. Please stay tuned; when we have a new event we will post it and let everyone know.

Hi everyone! This looks fun and exciting and I hope to attend. Amy, you said in the thread that the meetup will be at 7pm but the invite I got said 7am. Please let us know which time is correct, and if you are able to edit either the thread or the invite please do. If you aren’t, I can do it.

Amy, I went ahead and updated the time of the event to reflect what you wrote in the thread.

I’m guessing you saw 07:00 in the drop-down and quite reasonably chose that as the time, simultaneously identifying a usability issue with IxDF’s website! Whoever designed the time picker made an assumption that users would be accustomed to 24-hour time; in fact many people would not think to look for 19:00 if they want a start time of 7pm.

If I guessed wrong, and you actually wanted the meetup at 7am, please let me know and I will change it back.

Is the event still happening at 7pm on the 29th (today)? My Zoom link tells me this was scheduled for yesterday

I guess I missed it with the dates being posted for both the 28th and the 29th. Would love to be able to attend the next one!

I got the same message about the meetup being yesterday. Thought it was this evening.

Please log in or join us to post comments in the conversation.

Meetup attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meetup by clicking “Attend this meetup” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meetups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meetup (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meetups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
