Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss IxDF los Angeles hangout!!!! held on Apr 21, 2020. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

When I registered and tried to sync this event to my Google Calendar, it says the time is Tuesday 1:00 AM? 1:00 - 1:00 does not look right. Should this say 1 PM instead or a different time? Thank you for clarifying this and clearing up the confusion.

I second @WaynePhungm using iCal to add the meeting also marks it as 1am. Can the event organizer kindly confirm the real meeting hour?

Hi sorry about the confusion! The meeting hour is from 4 pm to 5 pm Los Angeles time, on April 21st.I just updated the event as well. I will be sending the virtual meeting link soon!

Thank you @Nida! I'm looking forward to it :D

Hello IDF LA!!!

Although these are crazy times, Im beyond excited too deep dive into UX and get to know all of you. I've always been fascinated by UX design and have wanted to study it for the longest time. Given the circumstances , I now have the time too. My background is in Industrial Design and i'm currently running operations for a startup called Haven Coliving in Venice. https://www.havencoliving.com/

I love systems, processes and strategies, so I figured UX would be a perfect fit. I also run the West LA chapter for Startup Grind. So if y'all need any connections in that realm please reach out. My network is your network.

May you all be in good health and keeping your minds sharp while at home.

- Atlás

Thank you Atlas for your kind gesture, we are excited to have you. see you soon!

Alright folks see you all tomorrow at 4:00 PM Pacific time.

We will be talking about :

  1. Why UX?
  2. What are you doing to land your first dream gig?
  3. How will you get there?

Thanks for organizing this Nida.

Looking forward to it!

This was a great meeting. Thanks again Nida and all who attended.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
