Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss IXDF South Florida online meet-up held on Apr 21, 2021. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Here is a bit more info for tomorrow night’s Zoom call.

I am hoping this meeting will give us all a chance to connect with people in our community. I plan to enter the chat and add my pronouns (they/them) next to my name. I welcome you all to add your pronouns so we can refer to each other accurately and with respect.

I look forward to having intros and then start a brief talk about, the bias that exists in Tech and how lack of accessibility is having an impact on the reach of our products. Even if you don’t know what I mean by bias and accessibility, this conversation is for you. I want to engage and network with local South Floridians about where we are and what we can achieve together. I will add a few resources below for you to take a look at if you would like.

I do hope this can be an ongoing discussion so don’t stress if you can’t make this one.

Yes, same here. I require captions in addition to ASL. Since it is a last-minute meeting, captions will do. Same with Saida, I can help. There are also a few South Florida-based MeetUp communities you can join.
