Hello, IxDF San Francisco! It’s been a minute. With the pandemic now slowly behind us 🤞, we’re oh so ready to bring back some live action to the community.

Join us on Oct 27, 2 PM, for a live conversation with Robert B. Kozma, Ph.D, Emeritus Principal Scientist at SRI International on his most recent book publication on how to think of design as the everyday way to cope with and change our world.

Robert Kozma is a retired professor, research scientist, international consultant and author of the book, Make the World a Better Place: Design with Passion, Purpose, and Values, published by John Wiley & Sons in 2023.

The conversation will be moderated by Pooja Vijay Kumar, Local Leader for the Interaction Design Foundation, San Francisco chapter, and a content design leader at Autodesk.

Agenda (all in Pacific Time):

1:30 - 2:00 PM: Guest check in and networking

2:00 - 3:00 PM: Conversation with Robert Kozma and Pooja Vijay Kumar

3:00 - 3:30 PM: Q&A with audience

3:30 - 4:00 PM: Networking reception

Seats are limited for the in person event. We hope to arrange a recording of the event, logistics permitting. Please RSVP only if you’re able to make it to the in-person event.

Note: RSVP-ing to the event does not guarantee participation. All confirmed attendees will receive event confirmation details from the host.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
