Meet-Up Details

Hi UX designers in Leeds! Let's meet to share our thoughts and experiences in designing great UX, and network with one another.

Te next NUX Leeds event is taking place on Monday 21st August in our NEW home at Futurelabs, at 1 Eastgate, Leeds, LS2 7LY.

Join us from 6:00pm for food, drinks and networking. Talk starts at 6:30pm.

This month we’ve our very own Kimberley quashing any doubts or trepidations and inspiring everyone with some handy tips on finding your topic, making a start on your talk, and gaining the confidence and motivation to present that talk you’ve always envisioned.

Talking the Talk

“I want to talk at a meetup – maybe even a conference! Yeah, go me! Actually… I’m not really sure what I’d like to talk about… In fact, I’ve nothing really new or original to say… and people would be bored… totally bored… so no, in fact, no… why on earth would I want to do that?!”

Inspired by initiatives such as weareupfront.com, this talk aims to address some of the nonsense (real and imagined) which stops us from getting our voices heard at meetups, conferences, and possibly even at work. Kimberley calls out her own personal blockers and gives guidance on making what seems like a scary task into something a bit more manageable.

She’s passionate about Lean UX and collaborative, creative processes, Kimberley’s organised hackathons and run innovation events. Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
