This month we welcome Andy Kirk who’ll be talking all about…

The Design of Time

In data visualisation, the most compelling demonstration of storytelling is surely the representation of time series data. But what are the different techniques for doing this?

In this talk, Leeds based data visualisation specialist Andy Kirk will navigate through the spectrum of creative ways to visualise time series data. Examining everything from timelines, sequences, radial displays, geo-temporal and cartesian methods, you’ll learn about the classics and the contemporaries, developing an increased appreciation for the myriad options to consider for your storytelling challenges.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
