Meet-Up Details

Join us from 6:00pm for food, drinks and networking. Talk starts at 6:30pm.
This month we welcome NHS Digital Interaction Designer, David Evans, to talk to us about…
Creating a user centred backlog: An NHS Digital case study
Dave will chat through his recent experience of doing discovery, alpha and beta work at NHS Digital, seamlessly (?) transitioning between the roles of researcher, designer and product owner. He’ll provide his thoughts on how it is possible to wear many hats, but how mentoring those around you is key. He will also dig into how his team prioritised the backlog for beta, using a method called WSJF (weighted, shortest job first).
About David
Dave is an interaction designer and product owner, dad, gym avoider, and pie lover. When he isn’t waxing lyrical about the lifestyle benefits of an ale/pie combo diet, he loves UCD, mentoring future designers, and flies the flag of building the right thing. He has previously worked in the public sector helping Eastbourne Council tackle neighbourhood issues.
