Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Starbucks hang out and chat! held on Sep 21, 2018. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Thanks for putting up this hangout! I'll try to make it :)

Unfortunately I can't leave work during the day. Hopefully I can make it to the next one!

Sorry I didn’t have much leading up to this get together. I got sucked into a new project... but luckily, I’m working at this Starbucks today! So if anyone is here... please come visit me at the big table.

Here are a few notes from the meeting we had on the 21st. We had one person show up, Darleen (sorry, I forgot your last name). Hopefully you can add a comment here. Anyway, Darleen and I had a great open ended discussion about UX, tools, prototyping and ideas about portfolios and staying current with such a face paced industry. UX Prototyping Tools

Design Systems

We had a great talk about how we might use design systems in our upcoming projects. This is more on the development and UI side, but it was interesting to go over. Some good resources include, just to name a few:

Newsletters and Feeds

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
