What are Local Groups?
Local Groups will expand your career network—whether you are interested in learning new skills, finding job opportunities or looking for a new employee.
A Local Group is a group of people who, like you, are passionate about design. Local Groups organize meetings to get inspired, have fun and learn from one another.

Meet-Up Details

Is your UI intuitive? How exactly do you know? Software teams are notoriously poor at evaluating their own product's usability. While user-based testing is a great way to get meaningful usability data, such tests take a lot of time and effort to setup and perform, and are often performed late in the process if at all. Hardly agile! Wouldn’t you like your team to be able to find many usability problems on its own, early in the process, in about an hour?

Enter scored streamlined cognitive walkthroughs, which help your team determine if task flows are intuitive by asking a few questions at each step and scoring the answers against criteria that measure intuitiveness. Unlike traditional walkthroughs, this process doesn’t assume that users will stay on the “happy path,” resulting in a more realistic and meaningful assessment.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
