Hi all! This meetup is going to be in Kadıköy, somewhere near moda (or nearby neighborhoods) but I wanted to leave the exact place open for discussion. Please feel free to write your suggestions here so before the due date we can fix a place.

Thanks!

Kuff Kollektif is also another suggestion but not sure if there will be enough space for all on a Sunday afternoon...

I recommend something close to the shore, near a Metro or bus stop so everybody can find it easily. Past that I don't have any specific places in mind. Also, will the meeting be in Turkish or English? Or both? I would suggest both, as I have seen members who don't speak any Turkish get turned off and scared away by meetings held entirely in Turkish.

I agree. my english is not that good when it comes to speaking and listening :) So the answer to this question is really important for me.

You raise a very good point and I completely agree! E.g. My Turkish would not suffice to hold an entire conversation in Turkish as well. However, this meeting is, but a meet-up, to simply network, get to know other fellow designers, plan for the coming meet-ups and create a group of local like-minded professionals. I think at the time of the meeting we'll figure this problem out, as there is no way to say for sure this meeting will be 100% in English or Turkish.

On the other hand, if there's someone who's speaking both, and would be kind enough to translate one to the other, we all would really appreciate it!

Let's meet-up for the first time then we'll take it from there!

Looking forward to meet each and everyone of you!

About the Meet-Up Place, do you have any place in mind near the shore for 10-12 people possibly?

If not, there's a Starbuck right across the shore, however I still suggest a cosier place with a more variant menu.

On that note, the reason I suggested Kuff Cafe is because it's like a middle point for all the public transport in Kadiköy, located at the beginning of Bahariye Cd. (right above the Bull Statue / Boğa Heykeli ) which is a convenient 10 minutes walk from Kadiköy Iskelesi (Metro/ Ferries) and also not too far from Metrobus (10-15 minutes walk also) - in case anyone's riding that.

Good choice of menu and relatively inexpensive prices.

If it's the Starbucks near the shore, that one is always really crowded -- or has that changed since they added the upper floor? I come over that way really infrequently these days, unfortunately, so I don't know the latest.

So we're definitely at Kuff? Please confirm.

Yes, let's meet at Kuff and if there's not enough space for all of us, there are some other cafés around to go to.

Here's the address :

I am here right now, and nobody I ask knows anything about your meeting -- and I am asking in Turkish to be clear and they know what I am saying. Please clarify. I am over by the RAFF store if you get this.

Dear fellow designers! We've created a whatsapp group for us to be in touch and plan meetings easier, please join us and let your friends know!

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
