On April 24, 2024, the Federal Register published the Department of Justice’s (Department) final rule updating its regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The final rule has specific requirements about how to ensure that web content and mobile applications (apps) are accessible to people with disabilities.

Join us for an introduction to what's happening, who the rules apply to, key dates, and what this means for you.

Lacy is a seasoned UX Designer dedicated to making technology work for people with a wide range of abilities. After securing buy-in to address the ADA Title II 2026 deadlines, she’s eager to help others understand this federal mandate and provide insights on how to unite teams and proactively navigate these challenges.

The most popular question, I’m sure: will this be recorded? 🙂

Hi Bekee!

Thanks for the question! It will be recorded and shared post-event. We’ll discuss those details in the talk. We’ll certainly provide any details in the event discussion (here) post-event.

Please make a point of sharing your ideas and questions during and after the event. We’re working to build a community around this topic to support everyone through the 2026 and 2027 deadlines. There is also strong potential for this to be a series in the near term to continue exploration of the topic!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
