Hi IxDF Calgary,

On behalf of Calgary UX community, I’m spreading the word for an upcoming in-person event!

On Wednesday, July 27th (5:45pm), let's celebrate failure by visiting the Museum of Failure (MOX) exhibit (Southcentre Mall) and then grabbing a beer at Craft Beer Market.

Point of contact on the day of the event is Luis Beruman. :)

Agenda:

  • 5:45 - 6 pm: Let's wait outside the main door of the exhibit

  • 6 pm - 7 pm: Enjoying the exhibition

  • 7 pm: Enjoy a drink and compare notes at the Craft Beer Market

This is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the role failure plays in UX and the opportunities it creates.

About the MOX exhibit:


The worldwide touring exhibit, The Museum of Failure (MOX), is coming to Canada for the very FIRST time! MOX will be visiting Calgary at Southcenter Mall this summer.

This walk-through experience showcases a collection of over 130 failed products and services from history.

From the Segway to Google Glass, some of the world's most prominent companies have produced their fair share of flops. But as the old saying goes, failure is the best teacher!

The Museum of Failure was founded in Sweden by Dr. Samuel West, a licensed psychologist who studies innovation and failure. West sees the museum as a way to learn from past mistakes, "we need to have failures to create progress" - Dr. Samuel West.

The Museum of Failure is a unique and fascinating place that reminds us that even the biggest and most successful companies can sometimes fail.

The exhibit, which made its debut in Sweden, has previously been hosted in cities such as Los Angeles, Paris, Shanghai, and Minneapolis but this will be the first time that the museum comes to Calgary.
