Existe una verdadera competición entre ciudades para ser el próximo Silicon Valley, y el proceso para conseguirlo es convertirse en una smart city, motor de innovación y desarrollo económico, refugio y fuente de prosperidad para miles de personas.

Ayuntamientos de todo el mundo incentivan el uso de la ciudad como laboratorio urbano y se buscan ciudadanos expertos de diversos perfiles profesionales para participar y resolver los mayores “Wicked Problems” del planeta. Hay agencias internacionales creando redes colaboración y sinergias entre ciudades dando a nuevas soluciones capacidad de escalar, un verdadero potencial para las startups de innovación urbana.

En este contexto comienzan a dibujarse los perfiles del User Researcher, User Experience Designer y Data Visualization Designers. ¿Cuáles son las oportunidades que ofrece el creciente sector de las smart cities a estos perfiles?

Esther Fuldauer es UX/UI designer, CM de Smart City Expo y editora/escritora del nuevo blog de SCEWC Smart Cities Blog. Como insider del evento Smart City Expo World Congress, que ha convertido a Barcelona en ciudad referente de las smart cities, Esther también nos hablará de los temas más candentes que se discutieron durante el evento.

Esta sesión tendrá continuidad en forma de taller. En una sesión posterior os invitaremos a participar en un Workshop de Design Thinking para Smart Cities, donde utilizaremos esta metodología para dar soluciones a problemas urbanos.

There is a real competition between cities to see which one will become the next Silicon Valley, and the process to become one is to become a smart city, engine of innovation and economic development, refuge and source of prosperity for thousands of people.

City halls from all over the world are promoting the use of the city as an urban lab and there is a search for citizens with an expertise with diverse professional profiles to join and help solve the wickedest problems of the planet. There are international agencies building collaboration networks and synergies between cities giving new solutions capacity for scale, a great potential for urban innovation startups.

In this context the profiles of User Researcher, User Experience Designer and Data Visualization Designers begin to emerge. ¿What are the opportunities being offered to these profiles by the growing smart city sector?

Esther Fuldauer is UX/UI Designer, CM of Smart City Expo and editor/writer of the new blog by SCEWC, Smart Cities Blog. As an insider of the Smart City Expo World Congress, the smart city premier event that has turned Barcelona in a worldwide reference for smart cities, Esther will also tell us about the most relevant subjects discussed during the event.

This session will have continuity in the shape of a workshop. In a later event we will invite you to participate in a Design Thinking for Smart Cities Workshop, where we will be using this methodology to find solutions to urban problems.
