Dear Uxer!

We have the pleasure to announce a new Meetup for this next July 4th at the Canòdrom Parc de Rercerca Creativa, 18:30h to 20:30h.

The event’s theme will revolve around talk by Josh Morales, UX Researcher at HP.

User Research Super Size: How Research Is Conducted In A Big Corp

Research is a team discipline which relies on the distinct roles involved, resources at hand and business environment. Then there’s the eternal discussion of whether research should be quantitative or qualitative and what methods should be used from the full range available: usability testing, metrics, A/B, card sorting, ethnographic studies. And don’t forget about being lean and agile too!

In his talk, Josh Morales, a UX Researcher currently working for HP, presents a talk reflecting on his experience in businesses of different sizes, and how size might influence the UX researcher’s role and choices of methodologies and tools.

In the end what’s really important is to obtain insightful results, regardless the methods chosen. But how do we reach that point within budget, time and scope constraints? How can we convey the business objectives within the limits of our research inquiries? Can I go guerrilla working in a large organization? Can a large lab be too big of a solution?

Schedule of the event:

10’ IxDF Presentation
35’ Talk by Josh Morales
30’ Questions and debate
45’ Networking

Language of the talk: English

Many thanks to our sponsors, CDmon for drinks and snacks and materials, and Canòdrom for letting us use their facilities.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
