UX Book Club: UX For Beginners A Crash Course in 100 Short Lessons, LESSONS 1-50.
Meetup Details
The time is here for our very first UX book club! We will be reading UX For Beginners A Crash Course in 100 Short Lessons by Joel Marsh. It will be read in two parts spanning across two months to give you plenty of time to read and prepare!
ABOUT THIS EVENT:
We will cover the first half of the book, lessons 1-50 in the first meeting. The lessons are super short and if you read 3 pages a day you can EASILY accomplish that feat! Didn't read it all? Still come. It'll be worth it!
MEETING DATE AND TIME:
Tuesday April 6th, 6:00 pm Pacific Time: Lessons 1-50.
A snippet about the book found on Amazon:
"...Forget dry, technical material. This book—based on the wildly popular UX Crash Course from Joel Marsh’s blog The Hipper Element—is laced with the author's snarky brand of humor, and teaches UX in a simple, practical way. Becoming a professional doesn’t have to be boring...
[some topics covered are:]
- Start from scratch: the fundamentals of UX
- Research the weird and wonderful things users do
- The process and science of making anything user-friendly
- Use size, color, and layout to help and influence users
- Plan and create wireframes
- Make your designs feel engaging and persuasive
- Measure how your design works in the real world
- Find out what a UX designer does all day"
*You can purchase the book on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/UX-Beginners-Crash-Course-L...

More to come about the book club at a sooner date. For now, purchase or borrow the book and start reading!
