What are Local Groups?

A Local Group is a group of people who, like you, are passionate about design. Local Groups organize meetings to get inspired, have fun and learn from one another.

Meet-Up Details

Hi IxDF Houston!

This is the beginning of a new group!

My goal for this group is to collaborate on projects, learn from each other, and/or discuss anything related to UX design.

In an effort to develop our skills and knowledge as UX Designers/Developers, this would make a great opportunity to work on concepts and take them from research all the way to testing in a team setting.

I look forward to meeting with you all!

Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all!
I've been practicing UX Design for about Two years now.
Currently, I work for a construction service company as an estimator, but I am working on introducing UX principles to the company.
Ideally, I would like to transition into a full-time position as a UX designer working on enterprise systems (NASA is ideal!)

For this first meeting, I'd like to establish the purpose and objectives of the group that will be determined by us all.

Come with any thoughts or ideas you'd like to discuss.

This may include:

Project ideas

  • These may vary as we may have different professional goals. If you are not sure of what type of project you might want to work on, think about the companies that you might like to work on, or maybe even applications/websites that you like.
  • How would want to communicate on these projects? (email, team application, etc.)

Ideal roles

  • What role do you want to take as designer/developer in this group. I think most importantly is that we support each other in our endeavors as designers/developers and learn from each other.

Meeting objectives

  • How do we want to structure these meetings.
  • Are they going to be weekly/bi-weekley?
  • Do we want to cover certain topics and discuss? "The best way to learn is to teach".

I look forward to getting together with yall!

The event has been moved to Saturday. Hope to see you all there!

I can’t make Saturday at 9 due to a prior commitment. Hope to see you at the next one

I'm sorry about the inconvenience!
Definitely hope you can make the next one as well.

Hi everyone.

Just a reminder about the meeting tomorrow, Saturday, July 25th at 9AM.

I have an exciting proposition to share in regards to the "Project" aspect so I hope to see you all there!

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
