What are Local Groups?
Local Groups will expand your career network—whether you are interested in learning new skills, finding job opportunities or looking for a new employee.
A Local Group is a group of people who, like you, are passionate about design. Local Groups organize meetings to get inspired, have fun and learn from one another.

Meet-Up Details

Responsive web design is all the rage today. As it should be: responsive design solves a very significant form factor problem in a mobile-first world.

Just one problem: So many responsive websites suck. Badly. Many are just a predictable mix of a fancy header bar; a giant, completely useless hero image—just to make it clear that you must scroll to do anything useful; endlessly long pages with just about everything but what you are looking for; promising links that send you back to the same crap you were just looking at; scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling; and a useless fat footer to signify your scrolling has finally come to an end. Oh yeah—and a hamburger menu (regardless of need) just to emphasize that it works on your phone too.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
