Assistant Professor of Interaction Design, Ph.D
Dr. Qian is an assistant professor of interaction design in industrial design at Purdue University. She seeks to complement users’ digital experience in creative and flexible ways. She has won four IEEE VAST challenge awards from 2010 to 2013 and her Ph.D. dissertation won the Dean of Graduate Studies Convocation Medal from Simon Fraser University. She also worked as a practicing designer creating visual representations, developing multimedia courses and learning about objects to foster design education, analyzing use cases to improve multimedia repository design, producing information visualization panels to support navigation and designing applications to support visual analysts.
