Rick B. van Baaren is a professor at the Radboud University Nijmegen. He obtained Ph.D 2003. in Nijmegen University and worked there as an Assistant Professor until August 2005. He was working as Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam for one year. In 2003 he received a 'Veni'grant, and in 2004, he won the SESP Dissertation Award.
In Nijmegen he initiated work on social imitation and started built a laboratory devoted to that. Regarding teaching, he introduced Advertising Psychology and The Psychology of Influence to the Nijmegen and Amsterdam students.
